From Washington DC/Hagerstown


Take the Capital Beltway I-495 towards Rockville, MD

Keep left and take the I-270 N Spur toward Rockville/Frederick MD
Merge onto I-270 N. Go 29 miles

Take Exit 32 to merge onto I-70 W. Go 52.3 miles.

Take exit 1B on the Left to merge onto US-522 toward Hancock/Winchester. Stay left to Berkeley Springs.

(Warning: Do not speed anywhere around Berkeley Springs. 25 means 25, not 26.)

Drive 6.9 miles (thru the main business area of Berkeley Springs) to the Sheetz gas station

Turn onto Route 9 East and drive 5.8 miles. (Use your trip odometer!)

Turn Right at the sign reading "East 9, By Way, George Washington Heritage Trail" onto Rabbit Trail (a gravel road which is 2/10s of a mile past a cemetery on your Left.) Drive very slow. Continue straight past the mailboxes and down a steep incline to The Lodge and park.
